About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to keep our financial records accurate, timely, and audit-ready. You will own the month-end close, reconcile accounts, and prepare statements that leadership and auditors can rely on. This role suits a detail-driven person who takes quiet pride in a balanced ledger and a clean set of books.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the month-end close and general ledger accuracy
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite)
  • Run the month-end and year-end close on schedule
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and vendor payments
  • Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory returns
  • Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation
  • Ensure records comply with GAAP or IFRS and internal accounting policies
  • Track fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules
  • Identify and correct discrepancies before they reach the financial statements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 2 or more years of accounting experience, ideally including a full close cycle
  • Working knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and advanced spreadsheets
  • CPA or progress toward a professional accounting qualification is a plus
