How the payslip generator works
What a payslip has to show
A payslip is the employee's record of one pay period: who paid them, for which month, what they earned line by line, what was taken off and why, and the net amount that reached their account. Indian payslips usually separate basic pay, house rent allowance and special allowance on the earnings side, and Provident Fund, professional tax and income tax deducted at source on the deductions side. The generator follows that layout so the result reads the way payroll teams and banks expect.
How the totals are calculated
Gross pay is the sum of every earnings line. Total deductions is the sum of every deductions line. Net pay is gross pay minus total deductions, and never below zero. Figures are rounded to the nearest rupee for display. The generator does not compute statutory amounts for you: enter the Provident Fund, professional tax and TDS figures from your payroll, and it lays them out and adds them up.
When a generated payslip is enough
A generated payslip is fine for small teams, contractors who need a record for a loan or a visa, and anyone replacing a lost slip for a past month. For statutory filing you still need your payroll system's output, because that carries the PF and tax registrations a generated slip does not.
