About the role
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to keep our business on the right side of the rules that govern our industry. You will build and maintain the compliance program, monitor regulatory change, investigate concerns, and give leadership straight answers on where risk sits. This role suits someone who reads regulation carefully, asks hard questions, and can turn dense requirements into practical controls people will actually follow.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the compliance program, policies, and controls
- Monitor regulatory change and translate it into practical requirements
- Investigate breaches and report compliance risk to leadership and the board
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and maintain the compliance framework, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Track regulatory and legislative changes affecting the business and assess their operational impact
- Run periodic risk assessments and maintain a compliance risk register with owners and remediation dates
- Investigate whistleblower reports, breaches, and complaints, then document findings and corrective actions
- Deliver compliance training and awareness programs tailored to each department's obligations
- Perform internal audits and control testing to confirm policies are being followed in practice
- Manage regulatory filings, licenses, and responses to regulator inquiries and examinations
- Own the AML, KYC, data protection, and conflict-of-interest processes where they apply
- Prepare compliance dashboards and reports for the audit committee, board, and senior management
- Advise business units on new products, contracts, and market entries before they launch
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or a related field
- 5 or more years in compliance, legal, risk, or regulatory affairs
- Working knowledge of the regulations and standards specific to the organization's industry
- Experience building or running a compliance program and handling regulator interactions
- A professional compliance certification (such as CCEP, CAMS, or ICA) is strongly preferred
