IT Manager Job Description
About the role
We are looking for an IT Manager to lead our IT function and the people, systems, and vendors behind it. You will set priorities, manage the budget, and make sure our infrastructure, support, and security all serve the business well. The ideal candidate blends technical depth with leadership, and is as comfortable in a vendor negotiation as in an incident bridge.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the IT team and its priorities
- Own IT budget, vendors, and service delivery
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and business-aligned
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow the IT support and infrastructure team
- Set the IT roadmap and align technology investments with business goals
- Own the IT budget, including hardware, software licenses, and services
- Negotiate and manage vendor and service-provider contracts and SLAs
- Oversee infrastructure, networks, and end-user support operations
- Establish and enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance
- Lead major incident response and communicate status to stakeholders
- Define and track service metrics such as ticket resolution and uptime
- Plan and deliver IT projects like migrations, rollouts, and upgrades
- Report on IT performance, risks, and spend to senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or a related field
- 6 or more years in IT, including 2 or more years managing a team
- Solid technical background across infrastructure, networks, and security
- Experience owning budgets, vendors, and service-level agreements
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills
