Everything you need to know
01What Is a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy?
A corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy sets out how a company manages its impact on society, the environment, and its stakeholders beyond simply making a profit. It covers areas like ethical sourcing, environmental sustainability, community involvement, and fair labor practices. The policy turns broad values into concrete commitments, giving employees, customers, and investors a clear view of what the company stands for and how it acts.
02Why Companies Need a CSR Policy
Customers, employees, and investors increasingly expect businesses to act responsibly, and a written CSR policy signals genuine commitment rather than vague good intentions. It guides decision-making, strengthens brand reputation, and helps attract talent and partners who share your values. A clear policy also provides a framework for measuring progress and reporting on environmental, social, and governance goals to stakeholders.
03What a CSR Policy Should Include
Outline your commitments across environmental sustainability, ethical business conduct, community engagement, and employee wellbeing. Set measurable goals where possible, such as emissions targets or volunteering hours, and assign responsibility for delivering them. Address supply chain ethics and diversity, describe how progress is tracked and reported, and connect the policy to the company's broader mission and values.
