HR Glossary
What is Accountability?
The obligation of an individual to accept ownership of their actions, decisions, and results, including the duty to report outcomes and accept consequences in a workplace context.
Why it matters in hiring
Accountability comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
