HR Glossary
What is Apprentice?
A worker enrolled in a structured, long-term training program that combines paid on-the-job learning with related classroom instruction, typically lasting one to five years and culminating in a recognized industry credential or certification.
Why it matters in hiring
Apprentice comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
