HR Glossary
What is Apprenticeship?
A structured work-based training programme in the United Kingdom that combines on-the-job learning with formal study, spanning Levels 2 through 7 (GCSE equivalent to master's degree), regulated by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) and funded through the Apprenticeship Levy.
Why it matters in hiring
Apprenticeship comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
