HR Glossary
What is Check-In?
A brief, informal conversation between a manager and employee about current work progress, priorities, obstacles, and well-being, typically lasting 10-20 minutes and occurring more frequently than formal performance reviews.
Why it matters in hiring
Check-In comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
