What is Deferred Compensation?
A portion of an employee's pay that is set aside and distributed at a future date, usually retirement, creating a tax-deferred savings vehicle beyond standard retirement plans.
Why it matters in hiring
Deferred Compensation comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
