What is EEO-1 Report?

An annual compliance report filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by employers with 100 or more employees (or federal contractors with 50+ employees and $50,000+ in contracts) that provides workforce demographic data broken down by race, ethnicity, sex, and job category.

Why it matters in hiring

EEO-1 Report comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
