HR Glossary
What is Employee Records?
The complete collection of documents, forms, and data that an employer maintains for each worker throughout the employment lifecycle, from application through separation and beyond, as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Why it matters in hiring
Employee Records comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
