What is Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)?
India's mandatory retirement savings scheme under the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952, requiring both employer and employee to contribute 12% of basic wages plus dearness allowance to a government-managed provident fund.
Why it matters in hiring
Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
