What is Equity?

The principle of fairness in treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all employees, achieved by identifying and removing the barriers that prevent certain groups from participating fully in the workplace.

Why it matters in hiring

Equity comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
