What is ERISA?
The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, a federal law that sets minimum standards for most voluntarily established retirement and health benefit plans in private industry to protect individuals enrolled in these plans.
Why it matters in hiring
ERISA comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
