What is Form 16?
A TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) certificate issued by Indian employers under Section 203 of the Income Tax Act, certifying the amount of tax deducted from an employee's salary and deposited with the government.
Why it matters in hiring
Form 16 comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
