HR Glossary
What is Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)?
A unit of measurement that standardizes the workload of part-time, contract, and full-time employees into a comparable figure based on a full-time work schedule.
Why it matters in hiring
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
