What is GDPR?

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679), which took effect on 25 May 2018, establishing a unified data protection framework across the EU/EEA with strict rules on how organisations collect, process, store, and share personal data.

Why it matters in hiring

GDPR comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
