What is Health and Safety at Work Act?
The UK's primary workplace safety legislation (1974) that places a general duty on employers to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety, and welfare of all their employees at work.
Why it matters in hiring
Health and Safety at Work Act comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
