HR Glossary
What is Industrial Dispute?
A conflict between employers and employees (or their representatives) over working conditions, wages, employment terms, or workplace rights that disrupts or threatens to disrupt the normal functioning of a business or industry.
Why it matters in hiring
Industrial Dispute comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
