What is On-the-Job Training (OJT)?
A training method where employees learn by performing actual work tasks under the guidance of an experienced colleague or supervisor, developing skills through hands-on practice in the real work environment.
Why it matters in hiring
On-the-Job Training (OJT) comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
