What is Overtime Pay?
Premium compensation paid to non-exempt employees for hours worked beyond the standard work schedule, typically calculated at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate under the US Fair Labor Standards Act.
Why it matters in hiring
Overtime Pay comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
