HR Glossary
What is Pay Band?
A defined salary range with a minimum, midpoint, and maximum assigned to a specific job, job family, or group of jobs at the same organizational level. Pay bands set the boundaries for how much an employee in a given role can earn.
Why it matters in hiring
Pay Band comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
