HR Glossary
What is Safety Committee?
A joint employer-employee group established to identify workplace hazards, review incident data, recommend safety improvements, and promote a culture of prevention, often required by law in specific industries or above certain employee thresholds.
Why it matters in hiring
Safety Committee comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
