What is Self-Assessment?
An employee's own written evaluation of their performance, strengths, accomplishments, and development areas, typically completed before a formal performance review to provide the employee's perspective alongside the manager's evaluation.
Why it matters in hiring
Self-Assessment comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
