HR Glossary
What is Sexual Harassment?
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that affects employment, unreasonably interferes with work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment, prohibited under Title VII and analogous state laws.
Why it matters in hiring
Sexual Harassment comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
