What is Spot Bonus?
An immediate, one-time cash reward given to an employee for exceptional work, a specific achievement, or going above and beyond their regular duties, typically outside the normal bonus cycle.
Why it matters in hiring
Spot Bonus comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
