HR Glossary
What is Whistleblower?
An individual, typically an employee or insider, who reports illegal, unethical, or unsafe activities within an organization to internal authorities, regulators, or the public, often at personal and professional risk.
Why it matters in hiring
Whistleblower comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
