HR Glossary
What is Workplace Violence?
Any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the work site, ranging from verbal abuse and threats to physical assaults and homicide.
Why it matters in hiring
Workplace Violence comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
