What is Job Shadowing?
A learning and development method where an employee observes an experienced colleague performing their job duties, attending their meetings, and handling their responsibilities to gain firsthand understanding of a role, function, or career path.
Why it matters in hiring
Job Shadowing comes up whenever teams compare candidates, set policy or report on people data. Getting the definition right keeps decisions consistent, which is the same reason springhire scores every applicant against the same criteria rather than on impression.
