UI Designer Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a UI Designer to shape how our product looks and feels, screen by screen. You will turn wireframes and user needs into polished interfaces, maintain a consistent design language, and work shoulder to shoulder with product and engineering to ship work that is both beautiful and practical. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp eye for detail who cares as much about spacing and states as they do about the overall vision.
Key responsibilities
- Design high-fidelity screens, components, and interaction states in Figma
- Build and maintain a consistent design system and UI library
- Partner with engineers to ship pixel-accurate, responsive interfaces
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Turn wireframes and product requirements into high-fidelity UI in Figma
- Design responsive layouts that hold up across mobile, tablet, and desktop
- Define and document components, tokens, and patterns in a shared design system
- Specify hover, focus, empty, loading, and error states for every screen
- Create interactive prototypes to test flows before engineering builds them
- Run design reviews and incorporate feedback from product and stakeholders
- Hand off assets, specs, and redlines that engineers can implement without guesswork
- Apply accessibility standards such as color contrast and touch target sizing
- Keep visual consistency across typography, spacing, color, and iconography
- Audit shipped screens against designs and log polish fixes for follow-up
Requirements
- 2 or more years designing user interfaces for web or mobile products
- A portfolio showing shipped product work, not just concept pieces
- Fluency in Figma including components, variants, and auto layout
- Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Solid grasp of layout, typography, color theory, and responsive design
