Everything about the Digital Marketing Test
Pair this test with the rest of the first round: springhire's candidate screening software adds a one-way video interview and resume scoring to the same candidate link, ranked in one report.
What is the Digital Marketing Test?
The Digital Marketing Test is built for generalist digital marketing roles. Paid ads questions cover targeting, bidding, CPC, CPA, ROAS, frequency and landing pages. Social media questions cover engagement, content calendars, user-generated content, influencers, community replies and disclosure. Email questions cover consent, segmentation, open and click rates and deliverability. Tracking questions cover UTM tags, attribution, conversion rates, platform-reported versus analytics numbers and testing. Calculations use simple numbers, so the test focuses on judgment across channels rather than one platform's interface.
What the Digital Marketing Test does not measure
It does not measure creative production or hands-on use of a specific ad account. Ask for a short campaign plan for senior roles.
How does the Digital Marketing Test work?
The Digital Marketing Test is an auto-scored multiple-choice test. Each candidate answers 20 questions drawn at random from a bank of 60, so two candidates rarely see the same set, and most finish in 8 to 12 minutes. The questions are spread evenly across paid ads, social media, email marketing and tracking and analytics, with a mix of easy, medium and hard items, and the report shows a score for each area as well as an overall score.
Why is the Digital Marketing Test important to employers?
Digital budgets disappear quickly when campaigns are judged on likes and clicks. A marketer who understands CPA and ROAS, tracks properly and knows why platform numbers differ from analytics will spend your budget more wisely. This test shows who can run channels with the numbers in mind.
