Everything about the Email Marketing Test
Pair this test with the rest of the first round: springhire's candidate screening software adds a one-way video interview and resume scoring to the same candidate link, ranked in one report.
What is the Email Marketing Test?
The Email Marketing Test is built for email and lifecycle marketing roles. List questions cover opt-in, double opt-in, unsubscribes, list hygiene and segmentation. Campaign questions cover welcome series, abandoned cart flows, re-engagement, send-time and frequency, and A/B tests. Copy and design questions cover subject lines, preheaders, one clear call to action, mobile layouts, alt text and plain-text versions. Deliverability questions cover bounces, spam complaints, authentication such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC, warming a new domain, and metrics such as click rate, conversion and revenue per email.
What the Email Marketing Test does not measure
It does not test hands-on use of a specific email platform. Ask for a short campaign plan or sample email for senior roles.
How does the Email Marketing Test work?
The Email Marketing Test is an auto-scored multiple-choice test. Each candidate answers 20 questions drawn at random from a bank of 60, so two candidates rarely see the same set, and most finish in 8 to 12 minutes. The questions are spread evenly across lists and consent, campaigns and automation, copy and design and deliverability and metrics, with a mix of easy, medium and hard items, and the report shows a score for each area as well as an overall score.
Why is the Email Marketing Test important to employers?
Email is cheap to send and expensive to get wrong. Buying lists, ignoring complaints or blasting the whole database can damage your sender reputation and land every future email in spam. This test shows who builds lists properly, automates sensibly and watches the metrics that protect deliverability.
