HR Director Job Description
About the role
We are seeking an HR Director to lead our people function and shape how the organization attracts, develops, and retains talent. You will own HR strategy end to end, from workforce planning and leadership development to culture, compliance, and total rewards, while managing and mentoring the HR team. This is a role for a strategic operator who can influence executives and still care about the employee experience on the ground.
Key responsibilities
- Set and execute the company-wide HR strategy
- Lead and develop the HR team and its programs
- Partner with executives on organizational design and talent
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Define the HR strategy and translate business goals into workforce and people plans
- Lead, coach, and structure the HR team across recruitment, operations, and business partnering
- Advise the executive team on organizational design, restructuring, and succession planning
- Own talent acquisition strategy and employer branding to build a strong hiring pipeline
- Design leadership development, performance management, and career progression frameworks
- Shape total rewards strategy, including compensation bands, benefits, and recognition
- Drive culture, engagement, and diversity initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Oversee HR policies and ensure compliance with employment law across all locations
- Manage the HR budget and report people metrics such as attrition, cost, and engagement to leadership
- Guide the organization through change, growth, and sensitive employee relations matters
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field; a master's or MBA is preferred
- 10 or more years in HR with several years leading teams and owning strategy
- Proven track record building HR functions and programs, not just running existing ones
- Deep knowledge of employment law, organizational design, and total rewards
- Experience advising and influencing senior executives and boards
