Everything about the Secretary Test
This test is one part of screening every applicant from one link: add a one-way video interview and resume scoring, and compare candidates in one report.
What is the Secretary Test?
The Secretary Test is built for secretarial and PA roles. Diary questions cover back-to-back meetings, travel time, rescheduling when a flight is delayed, minutes and meeting papers. Correspondence questions cover letter sign-offs, turning rough notes into clear letters, tone and replying on a manager's behalf. Records questions cover confidential email and paper, file naming, disposal, retention and refusing to backdate documents. Coordination questions cover supplies, competing urgent tasks, visitors and getting signatures when a manager is traveling. The situations fit secretaries in most sectors and offices of any size.
What the Secretary Test does not measure
It does not measure typing speed or shorthand. Add a short timed task if those are needed.
How does the Secretary Test work?
The Secretary Test is an auto-scored multiple-choice test. Each candidate answers 20 questions drawn at random from a bank of 60, so two candidates rarely see the same set, and most finish in 8 to 12 minutes. The questions are spread evenly across diary and meetings, correspondence, records and confidentiality and office coordination, with a mix of easy, medium and hard items, and the report shows a score for each area as well as an overall score.
Why is the Secretary Test important to employers?
A good secretary saves a manager hours each week and protects sensitive information. One who double-books, writes unclear letters or mishandles confidential papers creates work and risk. This test shows who manages diaries, correspondence and records reliably before you hand over your manager's inbox and diary.
